Taking part in the ONL course has been a very valuable and eye-opening experience for me. It helped me see online teaching and learning in a new way, especially since I had never taken part in such course before which that focused so deeply in online and networked leaning, and helped me see both teaching and learning in a completely new light. I also really appreciated being part of PBL group with educators with different cultural and professional backgrounds who were open to sharing ideas, their experiences and learning together. This created a rich and supportive learning environment where we could learn each other in meaningful ways. For me, the course had two main sides. One was the dynamic and practical work we did in the PBL group, and the other was the theoretical knowledge through the course’s topics and shared ideas in the group. Both sides complemented each other well. On one side, we were applying the theories and discussing real-life examples together; on the other, we were learning how to think more deeply about how digital tools, collaboration, and openness can shape education. This combination helped me develop both practical skills and a stronger understanding of key educational concepts.
Through the course, different topics helped me realize how collaboration and digital technologies are changing the way teachers and students interact. In today’s learning environment, sharing resources and ideas is no longer optional, rather is essential. Openness in education allows educators to contribute with together. The collaborative approaches help educators develop their teaching practices while digital technologies facilitate them in learning, collaborating, and contributing throughout the learning journey. I now understand how important it is to not only collaborate with peers but also to actively include students in the learning process.
Therefore, I will, as an educator and teacher, try to bring more openness, collaboration, and throughfall use of technology into my both own learning and teaching activities. I want to create a learning environment that is more flexible, inclusive, and student-centered. For example, I will consider sharing more of my educational materials openly and using collaborative tools to foster deeper interaction among students.
From my opinion who participants as a PhD student who is both learning and taking on teaching responsibilities, I beleive that this course could be further developed by including more input from students. Having students share their own experiences and expectations around online learning would give educators and teachers valuable insights. Students are important stakeholders in the learning process, and their voices can help shape a more responsive and inclusive educational experience.
To sum up, the OL course has helped me grow as both a learner and an educator. It provided me with practical tools, new perspectives, and the confidence to rethink my both learning and teaching practices. I am truly grateful for this experience and look forward to applying what I have learned in my own context.
