Lars Uhlin works as an Educational Developer at the Unit for Medical Education at Karolinska Institutet. He has a background in Nursing and has long experience of Health Care Education and Problem-based learning (PBL). For the last 15 years he has worked with educational development in different settings both on the national and international arena. He is also coordinating a national/nordic network for PBL and is a board member of the swedish network for educational developers (Swednet). Some of Lars main focus areas are professional development and educational design within a framework of problem-based learning, interprofessional learning and e-learning.
	Maria Kvarnström works as educational developer at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden. She has a background as Biomedical Laboratory Scientist and research in the medical field before working full time with education. Maria has an interest for online learning and how to manage the challenges for facilitating learners when locating education to an open online learning environment. Further she has a strong interest for PBL, started already when being a student at The Faculty of Health Sciences at Linköping University, and is very interested in investigating how to work with PBL online.
	My name is Mohammed Seed Ahmed, a Lecturer in the Unit for Medical Education (UME), within the Centre for Learning and Knowledge (CLK) at the Department of Learning, Informatics, Management and Ethics (LIME), Karolinska Institutet (KI), Stockholm, Sweden. Basically, I am a Medical Doctor (M.D.) and an Assistant Professor at the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Khartoum, Khartoum, Sudan. I have had my Ph.D. in Medical Science from the Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery at KI. In addition, I had the chance to accomplish the Master Programme in Medical Education at KI since I have a great interest concerning pedagogy in Higher Education
	Lotta Åbjörnsson works as an educational developer at the Division for Higher Education Development (AHU) at Lund University, Sweden. With a background in Physiotherapy and a Diploma in Physiotherapy Education she has worked as a teacher mainly in Physiotherapy programmes employing Problem Based Learning (PBL) as their method of instruction. Her keen interest in eLearning and the digital world is of a very recent date and it is with a fair bit of reluctance she has been able to convince herself of the usefulness and discover the inherent joys hiding in the nooks and crannies of digital tools and social media.
	Kenneth Johansson started at Lund University studying history and writing his PhD thesis, but ended up supporting computers and technology at the Department of History and the Faculty of Humanities and Theology. He has worked with platforms like LUVIT since the end of the 20th century, the last years as administrator for the Faculty of Humanities and Theology and now as a kind of “SuperAdmin” for Lund University. Kenneth works part-time at the Division for Higher Education Development (AHU) at Lund University.
	Alastair Creelman is an e-learning specialist at the Linnaeus University library in Kalmar. He is particularly interested in the opportunities that technology offers to open up education to all. He monitors developments and trends in educational technology and disseminates his findings through his blogs, Twitter and other social media as well as in published articles and conference contributions. He has taught in most areas of education (school, adult education, corporate training and university) and is today active in several national and international networks and organisations as well as Nordic and EU projects.
	Anders Gerestrand, is a teacher of Media Technology at Linnaeus University since 14 years back. He has a background as a sports teacher, but the subject has done that he focused on digital learning tool. He also teaches at teachers training on ICT issues. At Linnaeus University, he is a part of the Centre for Educational Development in Higher Education
	A Teaching and Learning Specialist,  Anne Whaits’ passion for new learning spaces, interactive pedagogy and educational technology as an agent of change reflects in many of the strategic development projects she drives as Academic Manager of Varsity College (an educational brand of The Independent Institute of Education, the largest private provider of higher education in South Africa). Anne’s current applied research interests include eLearning, learning ecosystems, transformative learning design and adaptive teaching strategies. A strong proponent of open educational practices and resources, Anne drives adoption of blended learning across a national footprint of eight higher education campuses.
	Liesl Scheepers has been with Varsity College (an educational brand of The Independent Institute of Education, the largest private provider of higher education in South Africa) for the past eighteen years. During that time she has developed a deep interest in teaching and learning; with a specific focus on educational technology and distance learning. Her current designation as Distance Learning Manager means that she is directly involved with the training and development of our institution’s Online Tutors and enhancing the quality of engagement for the students enrolled in the Varsity College model of online delivery.
	Alison Engelbrecht has been with Varsity College (an educational brand of The Independent Institute of Education, the largest private provider of higher education in South Africa) for the past six years. During that time her interest in teaching and learning has crystalized; with a specific focus on using educational technology as a support mechanism to improve student academic performance. Alison’s current designation as Vice Principal Academic means that she is directly involved with the support of the institution’s lecturing staff and students to develop sound Teaching and Learning within the Varsity College Pietermaritzburg Campus.
	Stefan Stenbom is a Ph.D. and Lecturer in online learning at the Department of Learning, KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Research interests are in analyzing teaching and learning in online and blended environments, especially in one-to-one settings. He is the Director of Studies for the technology for learning unit and teach courses in online and blended learning for teachers in K–12 and higher education. He also supervise theses on master level. Stenbom has been awarded as one of the most innovative teachers in Europe in 2010 and won the International E-Learning Award in 2013.
	Madeleine Tucker Smith works as an Instructional Technologist leader at the Department of Learning at KTH, The Royal Institute of Technology. She has a background in teaching at school level, adult education and corporate training. She has worked with Digital pedagogy since 1999 in various companies, Karolinska Institute and now KTH, The Royal Institute of Technology promoting and developing the effective and innovative use of ICT and Learning. Her primary interest is in blended learning and how to bring the best of technology-empowered learning into bricks and mortar, where pedagogy, technology and space all intersect.
	Marcus Lithander has a Masters degree in Psychology from Stockholm University and now works with E-Learning at KTH  Royal Institute of Technology. Marcus wrote his master thesis about metacognition and learning, where he specifically looked at how students can learn about, and use, effective study techniques. At the KTH Marcus holds seminars about learning and study techniques, both for courses in Basic Communication and Teaching and for KTHs Academic resource center. Marcus has also been giving online courses in Communication Design. In these courses Marcus used his knowledge from market psychology and social psychology to explain communication and human interaction. Marcus goals for the future are to do a Ph. D. about social interaction and learning in online environments.
	Sinéad Whitty is Pedagogy Co-ordinator at the Department of Medicine in Karolinska Institutet, where she is responsible for the design, development and delivery of a suite of online, post-graduate courses. With a background in Leadership and Modern Languages, Sinéad has twenty years’ experience teaching face to face, blended and online. She is an advocate for technology that supports good teaching and learning practices. Her research interests include designing for all, learner support, and virtual teamwork. A former participant on ONL161, where she thoroughly enjoyed being immersed in problem-based learning, Sinéad is delighted to return as co-facilitator for ONL162.
	Annica Rosvall is a nurse anesthetist and a lecturer at Malmö University in Sweden. She has a master degree in caring science and her research interests include web-based learning activities and continuing personal development. When teaching, she has an ambition to create learning activities that is fun and engaging for further development of skills. Annica has a penchant for digital media and lifelong learning.
	Jessica Zaar is a librarian at Malmö University, working with teaching, educational development and accessibility issues. She also has a special focus on IT and learning. She likes to meet collegues in conversations about Media and Information Literacy, student activity and collaborative learning. Available learning for all is one of her mottos!
	Lieza van der Vyver has been with Varsity College (an educational brand of The Independent Institute of Education, the largest private provider of higher education in South Africa) for the past seven years.  Lieza is the Vice Principal Academics at the Pretoria campus and also provides online support as a Programme Support Tutor for the distance programmes.  Lieza has a particular interest in using technology to enhance teaching and learning. She focuses on action research in the application of new technologies in her teaching and supporting other academics to do likewise.
	Victoria Owen  works as an Academic Development Manager at Varsity College (an educational brand of The Independent Institute of Education, the largest private provider of higher education in South Africa). Victoria works with a team of Teaching and Learning specialists across a national footprint of eight higher education campuses as they drive adoption of blended learning at Varsity College. Victoria has a background in teaching Economics to undergraduate students. Victoria has a specific interest in current trends in teaching and learning in online and blended environments.
	Francisca Frenks works as an independent entrepreneur at XWebinar.nl and Dyhme.com in the Netherlands and abroad. She has a background in innovative learning and closing the gap between learning and working for disadvantaged adults and youngsters. She also worked for more than ten years as an independent graphical designer. The last eight years Francisca focused on online collaborative learning and working. She works with teachers, trainers, marketing professionals, facilitators and students (different levels) to collaborate and learn online for Saxion (University of Applied Sciences), Stichting NOB, Johan Cruijff College, etc. Her challenge is to work effectively with a group online, where everyone is happy and motivated and feel free to participate, respecting everyone’s differences and feel the joy of diversity in the group. Francisca was a participant at #ONL152 as an Open Learner and participant at #ONL161 as an open PBL-learner. Now she joins the (co-) facilitators-team to learn more.
	Paula Morais is currently involved in a project, to provide online accredited courses and MOOCs to Syrian refugees in Jordan and Lebanon, and to Jordanian disadvantaged youth. Paula works as an international consultant and advisor on open education, open data, e-learning, distance education, mainly in developing or middle income countries, some of them in fragile contexts, in Africa, Middle East, Caribbean, Latin America. She has been working with the European Union, UNDP, International Telecommunications Union, World Wide Web Foundation, Governments and Higher Education Institutions. She is also finalizing her PhD thesis on the impact of openness policies in equality and equity in fragile contexts.
	Kay Oddone lives in Brisbane, Australia. She has a background in primary school education and librarianship. Kay has been an Early Years’ classroom teacher (5-8 year olds), a Deputy Principal of a primary school, a teacher librarian and an educational consultant. Her most recent position was as the Head Librarian for Brisbane Catholic Education, managing the central library, which provided resources for all head office staff and also the staff of all 160 schools in the Brisbane Archdiocese. Kay is currently studying full time, completing a Doctorate of Education at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). This course is three years long and she is reaching the end of the first year. Her study area is very closely related to the contents of ONL162; looking at how teachers of P-12 schools experience professional learning using online personal learning networks. She is also a sessional academic part time, and has been tutoring a number of subjects in the Master of Information Systems and Master of Teacher Librarianship courses through QUT. Kay completed ONL161 in the first semester of this year.
	As the Vice Principal of Academics at Varsity College Port Elizabeth, Catherine Louw leads a dynamic team of teaching and learning professionals to create an environment conducive to learning in the 21st century.  Innovation in learning design including the effective use of learning management systems is a core focus of development driven collaboratively by Catherine and her team.  Motivation is a key factor in ensuring change is adopted, hence meaningful relationships and fostering a community of practice has become the concentration of Catherine’s role for ensuring academic success.
	My name is Charlotta Hilli, most people call me Lotta (or Chilli). I am a teacher educator at Åbo Akademi University (PhD). I have worked as a history and social studies teacher in Upper Secondary schools in Finland. My research interests include virtual learning, learning and motivation in virtual learning environments, collaborative learning, dialogic pedagogy and subject integration or integrative learning. I work part-time as a post-doc researcher for the project Didactical Dimensions in Digital learning (dididi.fi/english) that wants to identify and distribute knowledge about learning in digital environments. Living in Vasa, Finland and sometimes in Odense, Denmark.
