Topic 4 webinar: Generative AI and course design

We will start this session by looking at different models for course design, and briefly considering their characteristics and possible disadvantages. There will be an opportunity to discuss learners and how they might have changed over the last few years or decades, and how we design courses around what they bring with them, as well as what they expect to learn. What impact do these considerations have on student engagement and active learning techniques?

We will also spend some time talking about designing assessment to ensure that it is valid, secure, and fair in an open and networked learning course, particularly with the availability of Generative AI tools.

We would like to recommend a podcast that was published recently: ThinkUDL with Kevin Merry.

The recording will be available afterwards from the course community page.
