Topic 4 webinar: Does AI have a role?

We’ve all heard a lot about generative AI tools and you have probably tried some of them out. There are many things to think about in relation to the use of these tools, such as:

• Are they ethically and environmentally acceptable?
• Will they replace activities that we, or our students, should be doing in more traditional ways?
• Will they reduce our collaboration with other humans?

We aren’t going to be able to come up with answers to all the questions you may have of this kind, but we will do some practical activities together which are intended to get you thinking about the advantages and disadvantages of these tools. We will focus on designing resources, as this is topic 4, but we can think about how to generalise some of the questions you may have.
