From where I am, the world seems to be spinning out of control – and understandably so. So much fear and anxiety – and for many, the risks and dangers of infection are very real. As I read and watched how governments, some more clumsily than others, attempt to erect walls against “the foreign virus,” it struck me how the complexities of the present crisis are a product of our entanglements across the globe. With calls for social distancing in the air, the world does seem too crowded. It is therefore both timely and ironically surreal to be participating in this ONL. Timely, because it is helpful. Surreal because it merely reinforces the fact of our entanglements. Nonetheless, I shall soldier on (yes, the metaphor of war is intended). First job – to overcome my sense of bewilderment of being thrown into a sea of possibilities I have not yet comprehended. Finally set up my twitter account – only to be inundated further with the covid-mania that is choking the world. Perhaps, I should leave that behind temporarily and simply enjoy the company of new friends & colleagues here instead….

Now back to the FISH model. Told you it’s surreal!

Amidst the Covid-Mania
