When this course started, I did not know anything about digital literacy. Now, thanks to the help of my PBL group colleagues, I think I know a little bit more about it. It is related to age, but the relation is not that simple (the relation is not linear in mathematical terms ).
Many factors affect digital literacy: environment in which people feel comfortable, being digital native or not, the need for the use of digital tools (in work and private life) etc.
In my group, we focused our discussions on two aspects: cultural and social understanding, and functional skills (both for the e-learner and for the teacher).
Today, I would say that someone is digital literate if he is able to question and criticize the content he is learning and consuming via digital tools. However, I am sure that my understanding of digital literacy will be improved during the next weeks
