The best thing about the ONL course has been to share experiences with other course participants. It has also been good to test many new digital tools that can work in online teaching and in blended learning. For me, the most rewarding topic was “Blended learning”. I think it is an interesting topic and the course participants had very useful experiences and tips to share. It was everything from the tool Pursall to tips on how to motivate students. For example, I will use quizzes where the students first do the quiz, then discuss with each other and then do the quiz again. In the last step the teacher goes over all the options and tell the students which was the correct answer.

This fall, my teaching will definitely be embedded in what I learned during the ONL course. I will include tools such as Miro, Pursuall, Waklet and Canva. I will also use techniques to create new opportunities for increased interaction student – teacher and student – student. During the course, I have gained increased knowledge about the importance of learning together and it makes it easier for me to motivate students to work together. It is also important to examine the students’ pre-understanding of digital literacy so that the teaching can be placed at the right level and that the teaching offers the knowledge that is lacking.

The first thing I will do is to see how I can implement the different things I have learned during ONL in the courses I will be teaching this autumn. Some of the things I take with me are:

– Find out what level the students are at when it comes to digital literacy and offer support.

– Promote interaction and collaboration with digital tools

– Think about how my teaching can be made more open in the future

eLearning has taken a real step forward and one of the main advantages I think is that it makes it easier for more students to take part in the learning. In the future, I hope that the university will provide more classrooms where we as teachers can offer on-site teaching, but also make it possible to take part in the lecture online at the same time if you do not have the opportunity to get to the physical location. I also hope that we learn to use the technology in the right way. We ensure that technology is not used for the sake of the use itself without actually adding anything.
See you at my next class! (it will be blended learning)
