I’m thinking about analogous contact with materials, space, surrounding environment and objects, during digital engagement. I often find that even physical teaching needs to connect to awareness of other than human agents in learning situations. That even in the studio where students come with some preunderstanding of art and art pedagogy as something else than more common lectures, they still need to be challenged with a relational perspective. Even more so maybe when we teach and learn in a digital environment? What can happen if we manage to engage in the digital environment and simultaneously engage in the material environment? My experience so far tells me that there is something to be found in the possibility for participants to experience some kind of connectedness between each other and between themselves and the material world, in and through the digital world. Maybe it would be possible to develop digital literacy and material literacy simultaneously? Could it be useful to challenge one with the other?
Digital and material literacy?
