Topic 1 focused on digital literacy. I am still trying to figure out how this blog is supposed to work, and connectivity can be problematic at times. But I hope that I am moving in the right direction.

Navigating digital platforms is something that takes time to master properly. Working full time does not allow for much experimentation with new applications in general. So I guess we will see how it goes and improve a little bit every week.

The online participation and digital literacy webinar with David White and Jorg Pareigis on 1 October 2019 was particularly valuable and the main message I drew from the presentation was about choice and being able to equip students to make those choices. The Beetham & Sharpe ‘pyramid model’ of digital literacy development (2010) was also discussed, as well as the Visitor/Resident model.
