Before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, I registered the open networked learning (https://www.opennetworkedlearning.se/onl201-course-overview/) course on the open networked learning, which was almost completely a puzzle at the time, but actually turned out to be priceless at the end. Initially, what drew my attention was the program and the format of the course. It will be completely online based, which was still pretty new before this February. And it will consist almost random learners from the world, who are interested in the idea and the concept.
On our first-week meeting, via ZOOM at the beginning of this February, we got to know each other for the first time. That was my first time to know ZOOM, which turned to be a such a common tool today. First, it was a general assembly with about 100 participants all over the world. Then we followed with a group meeting, also online. I’m in the problem-based-learning (PBL) group 07. We had nine people from Finland, Sweden, Switzerland and Brazil, all university researchers, teachers, professors.
What and where will this journey bring us? What will all of us bring to each other? I guess all of us were unknown at the time, probably even the facilitators.
To be continued…
