After struggling a
bit with making attractive presentations of our group work in topic 1
and 2, Yadhna has done a terrific work on this topic and it all looks
quite professional. She chose Padlet as our tool for sharing and the
result does seem to turn out very smooth looking. This is of course
good news as it definitely makes the information more accessible and
our presentation more enjoyable, but it also makes me wonder what the
’ideal’ focus point from a learning perspective on the ONL course
would be.

On one hand the
quality of the PRESENTATION is important. After all, when the course
is finished our presentations will be the only concrete evidence left
from our collective learning process. On the other hand, the CONTENT
is really why we’re making the presentations in the first place and
the presentation is only a vessel for that information to connect
with the learner in a better way. Lastly, we are exploring how to
achieve and improve COLLABORATION within an online group or
community. This collaboration within the group also holds a fourth,
hidden, objective: SHARING KNOWLEDGE within the group and learning
from each other.

As mentioned before,
our PRESENTATIONS are now starting to look and feel much better which
is great.

When looking back at
what we did so far, my feeling is that we also did manage quite well
with our CONTENT, although in all honesty, in producing our content
we mainly collected links and copy/pasted from online sources.

The COLLABORATION
runs quite smoothly and we didn’t have any conflicts. Everyone did
their part and cut each other some slack when we were busy with other
things. Our collaboration mainly focused on investigation and when we
reached the sharing part this was mainly done by one of the group
leaders.

When it comes to SHARING KNOWLEDGE within the group I think there are many ways we could improve our processes. I feel that even though we worked on this course for the last months, I hardly have any knowledge of what my group members actually know and this means that we miss asking the many questions that could be answered within the group. Instead I’m starting to see patterns among the group members in how we collect and share the information used in the presentations. For me personally, I hope that dealing with this issue is something we can work on and that can colour our presentations for the upcoming topics.

To end this short
blog on a positive note, our group work on Topic 3 started with
everyone taking a short survey about online collaborations and
collective learning. This was a smooth and creative way of sharing
knowledge within the group and is definitely something that could be
further explored down the road!
