Reflections:

“Options for offering courses that are open”

There are several options that can be opted in relation to the degrees of openness for courses that are open. Facilitator/instructor may decide to license their course content using CC license to allow other instructors to build and improve their course content1 and they in turn can use other users’ content which are under CC license. However, options for learners’ rights2  to use course content in an e-learning platform (e.g. Moodle) need to be clearly specified. Different CC licenses may be assigned to different parts of the course content and learners should be informed about, e.g. a permission to share only an educational video with others, but not the rest of the course content.
