We explored and mapped opportunities, dangers, and support and solutions for going open, while looking at learning from the perspectives of teachers, students, and educational institutions (ONL 2 2020 group 13 work).
On way of open learning is MOOC — massive open online course; participatory, supports the concept of life-long networked learning (by Dave Cormier). It is not really a course but rather an event, a way to connect with other learners, self-organise, engage in collaboration and share the process and results. It is different from education at schools, which offer instructors, library, community of other learners, structure, and an engaging learning environment.
