Introduction

My name is Susan Gamache and I work as an English teacher at the Language Centre of Aalto University in Finland. I mainly teach academic / scientific writing skills and presentation skills to students both at bachelor’s and master’s level. In addition, I provide writing clinic consultation to master’s /doctoral students and faculty. Before joining Aalto University in August 2019, I worked at the University of Tampere for seven years doing basically the same job.

I have quite a bit of experience with online teaching. In my previous job in Tampere , I designed and taught several blended and fully online courses for academic writing and presentation skills. All of these courses were through Moodle as that was the platform provided and supported by the university. I was also in the steering group of the national 2digi project  aimed at helping language teachers in digitalizing their teaching.

I’m really excited about this ONL course and getting to meet people from all over the world, which I’m sure will lead to interesting discussion and exchange of experiences.
