Our last session was to summarize what we have learned. I think the most important aspect I take with me from this experience is that online learning works well…and it can be fun fun and as engaging as on-site learning. In the beginning I was more than a little bit confused, but I quickly got the hang of the format, thanks to our great facilitators, Cecilia and Charlotta, who guided our discussions in a subtle but clear way. I  feel that the course has allowed me to re-evaluate my feelings vis-a-vis online teaching, and things I learned from the course I have already incorporated in my own classes. For example, I have started to incorporate more of the tools available on the web in my teaching, including miro and padlets. It was great to have PBL parterns that were more savvy in these aspects! Another thing I have incorporated in my teaching is to start off class with a scheduled 5 min chit-chat, which helps break the ice, and also fosters a bit of community. Im actually now planing to run my next zoology course in blended mode, also after covid. In short, the course has given me a lot to think about, and it was a great experience. 10/10 would recommend to others, and have in fact already recommended it to all my colleagues in Lund.
