Hi, I am Tove Kietz from Arcada UAS in Helsinki. I work within our Business Programmes on both Bachelor and Master level as senior lecturer teaching Marketing, Service Design, Entrepreneurship etc. Languages used in the courses are mostly English as we have international BA and MA programmes but also Swedish as Arcada is an UAS that has education in the second national language of Finland = Swedish (this is also my mother tongue). I have been at Arcada now for 3 years full time and before that 4 years on vocational level teaching 16-19 years old business skills – before this teaching career I worked in various Marketing positions for more than 20 years.

I am very interested in creative methods and reflective learning. The pandemic forced us all to be very agile and creative when we took for classroom designed lectures into the digital space – the giant digital leap is done! Now I hope to discuss and share experiences and learn how to do this more pedagogically and preplanned – and to understand when it is best to be online and when not (then when the choice is there again post-pandemic).

In my freetime I walk my two dogs, help my three daughters with various matters (age 23, 21, soon 16) and spend a lot of time with my husband and 1-3 of the daughters at our summerhouse which can be utilised also wintertime. I’m a very social person so we also tend to entertain friends quite often at our place and get then invited to visit them in turns.

I look forward to an intense autumn learning together!
