One may take the concept of Openness for granted.

For me openness means access to information, resources that are available.

There might be a argument between capitalism (profit) VS sharing information with others. In my country, South Africa, I see a a huge rich poor divide because many students do not have access to purchasing textbooks.

In my classes, I use open resources to be additional information to supplement my prescribed content.

The fact that I have now focussed on this topic and made me realise that the academic world is open to change with the use of open resources available.
