We referred to 5 stage model of Gilly Salmon:
1. Access and motivation which we call it “Foyer “. The goal of foyer is that students get goal oriented, enjoy and interact so the they motivate to return.
2. Online socialization which we call it “Living room of the course”. The purpose of this stage is development of sense of community among participants.
3. Information exchange which we name this one as “Individual rooms”. So participants exchange their knowledge and information in small and big learning groups via different online platforms.
4. Knowledge construction: it is actually a form of collaborative learning that aims to introduce a new understanding or knowledge which exceeds somethings that each individual could not achieve alone. It is the hallmark of collaborative learning to reach the maturity to perceive that collaborative learning is far beyond individual learning process.
5. Development: in this stage learners are comfortable to collaborate and cooperate, and becoming independent learners by reviewing the previous stages. All these results in metacognition (self-awareness), so learners are able to reflect, evaluate and critique.
