This week, together with Anna I was the host for the team project. Anna led the team into the “investigation part” while I led the team into creating a presentation.
We first gathered pictures and text snippets into a Jamboard, but when I was about to download the pictures from Jamboard, I realized it was not so trivial to get the pictures out to another platform. But we figured it out eventually.
I planned on designing the presentation in Powerpoint by using the images and texts that were collected. And we used the last team hour for discussing how to present the material in Powerpoint. During this time, we figured out that our member Henrike was actually a designer, and we could have used her skills for the presentation. But it was too late at this point to shovel this responsibility on her. So we continued in Powepoint.
While I was fixing the presentation into final form on my own time, I had to give up on Powerpoint. I watched a few tutorials about Canva, and recreated the presentation in Canva. This turned out to be a good move.
To summarize:
->Next time we should be more aware of the different skillsets in the group, and try use them to our advantage better.
->If I would have had time to investigate Canva before our last meeting, we could have skipped our work with Powerpoint, which turned out to be a dead end. So as a host, I should have been more prepared for the meeting so we would have been more productive during our meeting.
