After attending ONL211, I started to dig deep in my memories about the time where collaborative learning took place during my school days, and i couldn’t remember any. However , there were unintentional episode of collaborative learning at the work place where a team was tasked to complete a project. Since the project has a lot more at stake as compare to a simple letter grade.
Having more at stake means that there is lesser chance of social loafing happening while team member would work together cocreating knowledge and reaching their goal together. Member would fill up the knowledge or skill gap that has been left by the other member, and the weaker member would be able to learn from the rest.
Making sure that every member in the learning network would have the same mindset is very important. Not only for those who would be doing more of the learning but also those who are sharing their knowledge as well.
Technology has definitely create a lot of opportunity for one to learn with their personal learning network, as more discussion can happen online, and learning can access these information or the content of the instructions anytime they want. Making these tools would also enable different players in the learning network to share their thought and make changes to the project as they deem fit. Some of these tools allow the learners to leave comments and questions for other users as well. (G suite). I hope I would have the chance to try out more of these tools along the way
