I am currently interested in the concept of microlearning. We are all strapped for time nowadays, and Zoom fatigue has probably overwhelmed students and educators alike. Asynchronous learning that is short, but still impactful and active, might be a good option for busy people who can’t carve out 2 hours of their day for a workshop, but might be able to squeeze out 5 minutes here and there to pick up some tips and tricks.
There is some evidence that microlearning is effective, and even better if we can provide lessons on mobile devices, which would be great for learning something while standing in queue or on the MRT train.
I’m still very much in the initial stage of exploration for this though, and will need to work out a lot more, particularly how to scaffold information literacy and/or critical thinking skills through a series of short interactive lessons.
