2020 started with a few unexpected situations that shook the world. I moved from Sydney Australia to join the National University of Singapore in January 2020 and everyone told me that you escaped from the bushfires down under. Little that I knew after that a bigger disaster was facing us. COVID-19 really made my first semester at a new university extremely difficult as I had to switch to teaching online half-way through the semester.

Now that I am in my second semester, everyone told me it should be easier as we had more time to prepare and at least we knew for sure that we had to run our classes online for the whole semester. Not really, it’s not that much easier as I have not been well equipped with the skills in online teaching and the preparation for online classes took so long.

I decided to enroll in the Open Networked Learning (ONL) course to learn tips and tricks about online teaching from colleagues around the world. This blog is intended to be a space for my reflection and I hope I survive through this course while struggling to teaching my two online modules at the same time.

Only three more months, we will say goodbye to 2020 and hello 2021!
