I am filled with both happiness as well as sadnass as this 12-weeks journey comes to an end. Happiness because now I will have unlimited with time to do other stuff (sure), and ofcourse because I have learned a bunch of new pedagogical approaches, and lastly becuase I have met a super interesting group with all different personalities and perspectives. This has been the greatest. This course has been a little bit as a big brother experiment – toss in a mix of random individuals for 12 weeks in an online room and see what comes out of it. In the beginning I (maybe we all) had a little bit hard to adjust and know what was expected of us, but after hand we found or roles and the work went on smother and smother (I even learned a new word: “infodemiological”, thank you Jonas). I will certainly have this group process in mind next time I prepare a student group collaboration. That was my first lesson learned. Secondly, we got aware of what COLLABORATIVE work was. The problem with collaboration is to come around the “I do that, and you do that, and then we paste it in a document”, and instead get the added value out of it. To reach this purpose, students need to really understand why they are doing  something in a group, and here I can most likley improve my description of their work. This is is hard stuff so don’t expect it to just be there. Lesson learned. Thirdly, to find the right activities to fill the course with. Important to explain and self be aware of the PURPOSE of the activities. How to communicate this?  Challenge taken.

There were one aspect of the course that I just could’nt get into: tweet chat. I felt like a very big barrier for me. I mean, I have (had) a twitter account, never written anything though, but use to read some twitter. However, never really liked it; TOO short messages from someone who just needed to express themselves …  In this course case, it was just to much for me to take in. The first week was all about finding the right places on the OLN home page, and then it was a balance just to to what I really needed to do. Just my 2 cent.

Overall, the course challenged me in a positive way. But the communication tool/learning platform need to be revised in some way in order to facilitate communication.
