Welcome to topic 4 – Design for online and blended learning

We hope that you all at this point of time in the course feel quite well-settled with the ONL learning environment and that you have found a good structure for your studies and PBL group work. It seems that the previous topic on Learning in communities was inspiring and engaged you in good discussions and reflection on collaborative and networked learning.

Fantastic presentations from the PBL groups are being shared in the ONL202 community under the category: PBL group work. Don´t miss the opportunity to look at and comment on what the other groups have created using different tools.

For this fourth topic, Design for online and blended learning, we shift our focus from participation in a learning environment to how to support and design for learning taking an educator perspective. You will have the opportunity to explore the Community of Inquiry framework and possibly other frameworks/models and apply these on the scenario as well as your own practice.

The common course event for topic 4 is a “flipped” webinar with Marti Cleveland-Innes on Wednesday 25 November. To start up this topic and prepare for the webinar, go to the provided Padlet where you will find an introductory video from Marti Cleveland-Innes on the Community of Inquiry framework. For the topic 4 webinar please also add your reflections, comments and questions to the Padlet.

At this point, we would also like to encourage you all to read some participants’ blogs that you haven’t looked at before, and also to comment on them!
