Dear friends,

We hope this finds you well! It seems that however hard we try to pave the way for the course participants, some confusion – and with that, frustration – is inevitable. These past weeks were meant to give you opportunity to familiarize with the different learning spaces and tools and to get to know each other and the group facilitators through the ONL community and/or the PBL groups and we hope that by now some of the initial confusion and frustration is wearing off. We are pleased to see that so many of you have started sharing experiences and reflections in your blogs and that the PBL groups have met through online meeting tools, made group presentations and started to try out collaborative inquiry using the FISh model.

As we are now entering Topic 2, reflect on your experiences and what you have learnt so far. Sharing the link to your blog in our ONL community and/or the ONL bloglist will give more people a chance to read and comment! Please also share your PBL group work from Topic 1 in the ONL community. Support each other by commenting on each other’s posts in the community and/or directly in the blogs!

This second topic is about different aspects of Digital Literacy – we hope for fruitful discussions about this and how it links to our personal and professional practices. To start with, please look at the Topic 2 page where you will find information about aims, activities and resources for the topic. This week’s common learning activity is a webinar with Sara Mörtsell, education manager at Wikimedia Sweden – don’t miss the opportunity to watch and discuss with her (or if you do, view the recorded webinar). Sara will also discuss with us in the ONL community during this topic – go there and post your questions!

If you learn within a facilitated PBL group, please remember to access your PBL group space in Google+ regularly and participate in the group activities. If you are having difficulties with actively participating during the week, let the group members and the facilitator know as soon as possible.

In our timeline we have reached Topic 2  – Digital literacy
