This is Carl writing – reconsidering certain components in my online whereabouts. Having attended a couple of really inspiring webinars and discussions in early March 2021 – and, in parallell, getting acquainted with some new online tools, I have picked up (among many other things) the following concepts, thoughts and usable tools:

A blog, a straightforward blog: I chose to start a blog by the name of https://wordpress.com/post/wearethedreamersofourownfuture.wordpress.com

Padlet: Yes indeed, this is a fine tool, basically giving the capacity for an online community to simultaneously write “post-it” notes on a “white-board” – and, possibly, connect these post-it-notes to each other. Maybe in order to form a Conceptual map.

I have also started to, finally, collate information into a forthcoming Teaching Portfolio/ Pedagogisk portfölj, which in its turn implies starting up (or rather formulate) a Pedagogic development project. Now, this is really fun and really useful: this will be, in combination with the above mentioned Blog a possible way of formulating – or rather externalizing – some quite important modes of teaching as well as learning – that I have in my mind and in my experience.

Also, I have become acquainted with the PBL-model FISH, described as “to view learning as a constructive, collaborative, self-directed and contextual process” (Dolmans et.al., 2005). This in turn is a backbone for the work in the PBL-group that I am part of, the PBL_11. This group will work with “Networked learning” throughout the spring semester of 2021. The group has an array of connecting nodes on the Internet: A google-drive document, a corporate blog, a Padel, and – not least: the overall webpage for the overarching ONL-course.

Within the KLL-course, I got to know yet another fun tool, the “Mentimeter” at menti.com

The mentimeter seems to be another online tool for collaborative externalization – and a means for deepened interaction between online participants.

John Johansson gave a great (but somewhat muffled) lecture on Self-Determination Theory. This is something that I will engage in further. “The dog won´t jump if the sausage is to high”. Nudging.

We were presented with Dag Hammarskiölds photos – and given the task of trying to depict “a picture that represents good teaching to you” – but this is to be done without a human in the photo…! The idea is named a “Photovoice”. (Wang and Burris).

Ann Lindblom presented the difference between a Mind-map and a Conceptual Map. The latter is a concept that I already got to use in my tutoring of a PhD-student.

Last but not least, David White gave a webinar on Online Participation and digital literacies that was inspiring. He, in contest with the somewhat outdated concept of “Digital Native”, suggests a concept that involves

VISITOR — RESIDENT

and PRIVATE — INSTITUTIONAL

– and suggested that one considers the digital whereabouts from these factors. A super inspiring and clever way of thinking.
