“I am lost” best represents my feelings when trying to find out what this course is about. I sense that there is a lot to explore but I cannot touch it yet.

A course, a community, an approach

Reflection of ONL 202 For this blog post I want to reflect upon the last ten weeks, for which I have been a part of the Open Networked Learning course and I want to reflect my experiences with the help of guiding questions that have been provided by the ONL facilitators. In old “FISh”-traditionContinue reading “Friday, December 18th”
For this blog post’s topic, I didn’t have to think for a long time. When we discussed a change in teacher-student roles, I immediately thought about the concept of critical pedagogy. A concept which emphasizes how closely related social justice and democracy are to practices of learning and teaching. It was crucially influenced by theContinue reading “Monday, December 14th”
Torii – the gate to the a „special“ place in Japan (shinto – way of gods) as a symbol for the path we went through the course and the way in front of us…

We laugh about such historical pictures, but is this style of teaching really gone? How about new learning theories and the learning practice? Digital learning in the 21st century does not mean automatically progressive learning theories or pedagogy as Georg Siemens not so long ago pointed out: I posted my ideas to overcome this on“Nuremberg funnel is out! ?” weiterlesen
No question, that was the funniest group activity during the seminar. A quizz was designed and one group tried to solve it in a cooparative way (deviding the work), the other group in a collaborative way (thinking together). Of course the collaborative acting group could solve the problem with joy and success. For better understanding“Collaborative – Cooperative” weiterlesen
That is the message to be learned as the part of the course. Looking in my reflection diary at that time I felt „brainwashed“ and „stalked“ from the provider of the tools I have tried. Worldpress would not give up to overload me with advertisement, padlet was only free for three padlets; I faced borders“If it is open and free, you are the product.” weiterlesen
How to establish and foster an online learning community? During Topic 3 „Learning in communities – networked collaborative learning“ we discussed our experiences within the learning community that we are a part of currently. The question that was still on my mind when the topic was finalized: How can I create a successful, supportive andContinue reading “Wednesday, November 18th”
How to create something as a – so called – “Resident”, what you find not attractive as a – so called – “Visitor”? Writing a Blog here produces a lot of resistance inside the author, since blogs usually do not keep my attention, are not attractive due to ineffective way of presenting knowledge. That as“Participant – not „Visitor“ or „Resident“” weiterlesen
I learnt a lot during the ONL course and I also had a good time with my PBL-Group. The best thing best were the discussions in the group with really expanded my knowledge base. Also it was nice to get different views from different countries so that I could come out of my German influenced “learning-bubble” … Continue reading Good Bey ONL!
Now, my ONL journey is over. Although it wasn´t always easy to find the time for the meetings, the readings, the research, the tasks and especially the blog I´ll surely miss the regular webinars and especially meeting my PBL-group. It was absolutely new for me to meet people over several weeks only online and inContinue reading “Lessons learned”
Design for online and blended learning – that´s topic 4 and the end of my ONL journey is in sight. But first we have to think about how we could convince the head of our department to keep some changes which were made because of the corona-time. That is the scenario for topic 4. WellContinue reading “Online versus on-campus”
