In the first week of this course we were told that this would be an unpredictable adventure and that we would need to ‘trust the process’. While I didn’t understand it at the time, looking back I can agree that this was good advice! A major lesson I learned is that trusting the process doesn’tContinue reading “Trusting the process”
The times they are a-changin’ – So we must change with them
Zoom’s catchphrase is ‘we deliver happiness’ because sustainable happiness comes from making other people happy (Zoom Video Communications, 2021). Some of us may laugh at this because Zoom has certainly given us headaches alongside this so-called happiness! How many times have we said some version of this in the last two years – ‘can youContinue reading “The times they are a-changin’ – So we must change with them”
Reflections
I decided to take the ONL course since COVID made me realise – sadly – that i know nothing about online teaching. Myself, like many others, thought: ”What can be so difficult? We do exactly the same as we did in classroom – but now we will be on Zoom instead of an actual classroom.”Fortsätt läsa “Reflections”
The tip of the ICEBERG?
I’ve always thought of myself as open to changes, a quick learner and as rather familiar with various IT tools. But well, as with many other things, Covid proved me wrong…so there i was, in a Zoom online lecture, extremely stressed because, in spite of me testing multiple times my setup and internet connection, theFortsätt läsa “The tip of the ICEBERG?”
Switching roles
With one week before the thesis submission deadline, one of my students e-mailed me saying that he doesn’t want to continue working with his group, as he was aiming for a high grade – unlike his peers, apparently. He wanted to continue on his own, if possible. What is ”the right solution” to such aFortsätt läsa “Switching roles”

What have I learnt and what will I bring in to my teaching practice? I have learnt so much! It have been a learning experience, from the beginning to the end. See you online!
The ONL experience has ended, and it was indeed quite sad to say goodbye to our group members. Even though we all came from very different backgrounds, somehow we managed to create a sense of belonging within the group. One group member commented that she almost felt more belonging to our group than to herContinue reading “See you online!”
Openness – or should we just call it the internet economy
My first impression about the concept of Open Education was that of bewilderment. In our webinars and PBL group discussion it felt like we were discussing well known, general principles of how the internet economy works – but we were pretending like we were discussing something more fancy. I then went on to read MartinContinue reading “Openness – or should we just call it the internet economy “
Last topic – Lessons learnt – future practice
Time flies. I was just starting my adventure with ONL, and now I have to say goodbye. What have I learned from ONL?I learned to take up challenges boldly. Meetings in the PBL group always left me with something to think about, to reflect on deeper…
Topic 5 – Lessons learnt – future practice
I see the ONL course as a journey: not a package tour closed in a rigid framework of sights to see but a backpacking trip which lets you surrender to the current of events, stop not necessarily at the greatest attractions, but reflect for a moment at a…
Learning Design – yes please
Discussing the relationship between pedagogy and digital tools has always been a bit frustrating for me at work. The conclusion the pedagogical staff always seem to arrive to, is that digital tools do not change the underlying pedagogy, so therefore we need to always think “Pedagogy first” before we start thinking about what tools toContinue reading “Learning Design – yes please”
